Patcher ISO et BIN sous GNU/Linux et *BSD, voire GNU/Hurd

Si vous ne jouez pas sur la machine originale, certains jeux pourraient ne pas se lancer sur émulateur. Au passage, on en profite pour signaler des émulateurs libres : PCSXR et Mednafen, ainsi que PCSX2 (PS2 mais aussi PS1).

Il existe généralement un correctif (patch). Un site web de référence pour ça est "https://consolecopyworld.com/psx/psx_patches.shtml".

C'est cool, mais il faut encore l'appliquer au jeu. Pour cela, il existe divers programmes. Dans notre cas, on n'en veut un libre (au sens de Richard Stallman) et qui fonctionne sur un système libre "classique" (en l’occurrence GNU/Linux, *BSD, probablement aussi GNU/Hurd, et pour ma part je suis sous Debian GNU/Linux 10 "Buster"). Heureusement il en existe au moins un.

Son nom est "applyppf". Les gens sous ArchLinux ont la chance d'avoir un moyen de construire automatiquement le binaire. Les gens sous NetBSD en ont aussi un. S'il n'y a rien de ce genre sur votre système, il va falloir faire à la main, mais ce n'est heureusement pas compliqué. Voila les instructions à éxécuter dans l'ordre dans un terminal textuelle :
